Bookings for 2009 Season Now Open.

We are now taking individual and group bookings for 2009. The House will reopen for prebooked guided tours on Friday 27th March through to Saturday 31st October. We are open Thursday to Monday every week.

NEW FOR 2009

New for 2009 we have introduced a 1.00pm Drop In Tour for those who have not been able to book in advance. Subject to availability, maximum number for the tour is 18 and places are allocated on a first come basis until full. Please note that places on this tour are not pre-bookable.

Adult: £10.00
Children 5 to 16yrs: £5.00
Children under 5yrs: FREE
Art Fund Members: Free
Historic Scotland Members: £7.50

REFRESHMENTS

Refreshments are available throughout the day in the Dumfries House Cafe where we offer a full waitress service. Between 12 noon and 2.00pm, home made soup and a selection of freshly made sandwiches are a available. Vegetarian options are also available each day.

From the main public parkway, visitors may walk to the House or use the courtesy shuttlebus service. If you wish to walk you will need to allow an additional 30 minutes prior to your tour. We would ask that groups use the shuttle bus service in order that all members of the group arrive together in time for the start of their pre-booked tour.

Disabled access is limited although plans to further improve accessibility are ongoing. Please contact us on 01290 425959 if you have any concerns.

We respectfully request that visitors do not wear stiletto type heels which may cause damage to delicate carpets and wooden floors.
