Volunteer work at Dumfries House

Are you a people-person with time to spare?
Do you have an interest in history, art, fine furniture and the local community?

Dumfries House is due to open to the public in Summer 2008.

We need cheerful, enthusiastic volunteers to help us share this Ayrshire treasure with visitors from around the world who are anxious to learn more about the House, the local history and the collections.

As a volunteer there are so many things you could become involved with, whatever your interest, but above all you must be friendly, keen to learn more and willing to share your knowledge with others.

As well as guides and ‘meeters and greeters’ we may need help with our grounds and gardens, in our shop and Cafe, with general office work, with household cleaning, conservation cleaning, fundraising and stewarding at events. All volunteers will be fully supervised and trained as required.

In return, you will become part of a new team, determined to succeed in making Dumfries House a first class visitor location, with a reputation for quality of service, delivered by the local community.

If this sounds like you and you are willing to help, please contact us by completing and returning the form overleaf. We look forward to meeting you!
