Get Involved
Until 2007, Dumfries House was a family home that had been loved and lived in since 1759. It has only been open to the public since 2008, and as such, is still in its infancy as a charity.
In these early years, it is vital that there is as much public and financial support as possible in order for the House to mature and grow into its role as a much loved attraction to the public, tourists, and businesses.
Make a Difference
Your generous donation will make a big difference to the work of Dumfries House.
As a venue for weddings, banquets and meetings, it is without equal. However, it is as a catalyst for change in the local community that it is unique. The exciting and dynamic programme of projects and events, coupled with the ongoing renovations and restorations will ensure that Dumfries House will rightly take its place amongst the very highest acclaimed heritage sites in the UK.
This work is still in its infancy, and is still in need of continued funding. HRH The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay gathered together a consortium of the great and the good to get the ball rolling and saved Dumfries House, its contents and the Estate from being broken up at auction. They formed a Trust that is still doing magnificent work, but that is only the beginning. It is only with continued funding, from the public, that these plans can come to fruition.
This is where you can come in and make your own mark on history. With your help, Dumfries House will provide a lasting legacy of pleasure to thousands of people in the future. Your support will not only help maintain the House, it will also have a positive impact on the local community, providing jobs and income, both directly on the estate, and also via increased tourism.
