News. Prince’s Trust new young ambassador

1st of December, 2017

Kirsty McGhee is an Ayr-based teenager whose affecting experience as a participant in the Get Into Hospitality programme led her to become a new ambassador for The Prince’s Trust.

The hospitality training project, based at Dumfries House and run in collaboration with The Prince’s Trust, equips young and unemployed participants with key skills and qualifications to work within the hospitality industry. On embarking on the course, McGhee demonstrated a high level of passion and commitment, which was noticed immediately by her mentors. As such, the former Belmont Academy pupil was asked to present a speech detailing her experience to invited guests at Dumfries House. Swiftly after, The Prince’s Trust keenly recruited McGhee an ambassador for the charity, where she’ll now have a chance to inspire her peers across the country. “It was a proud moment for me” McGhee told the Daily Record. “I’d love to do it so that I can encourage other people to apply for similar training programmes.”
