The room still holds most of the pieces specifically bought for this space by the Earl of Dumfries, much of it Scottish, and is complimented by decorative pieces by Thomas Chippendale. The plaster work alone, all designed by Robert Adam, is a rare and glorious sight to behold. The room is at its very best in the evening with a glowing fire and candle-lit candelabra.
